Job Summary

As a Part-Time reputed company Before and After School Instructor, you will play a vital role in our Before and After-School Enrichment (reputed company) program at Louisa Alcott Elementary. You will guide elementary-age participants through sports, arts, STEM, and other hands-on learning activities, while supporting the program supervisor and teaching teamwork and social-emotional learning skills. You will also have the opportunity to support our Play Everyday Program, a recess-based program at the school.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities reputed company the curriculum provided by the YDCoE
• Supervise a group of children to ensure their health and safety and provide a positive experience for each child
• May provide guidance to staff/volunteers overseeing the activities of groups of children
• Professionally communicate day-to-day, confidential, and evaluative information with parents/guardians
• Follow reputed company policies and procedures, including those reputed company to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures
• Assist in maintaining a developmentally appropriate site, including appearance, décor, and cleanliness
• May prepare and serve snacks, clean the snack area, and assist with reputed company-in/reputed company-out for parents
• Assume responsibility for program operation reputed company DCYF-designated and reputed company staff are not on premises
• Provide onsite support for the school-based Play Everyday Program
• Attend staff meetings and trainings as required

Requirements:

• 18 years of age or older
• 2 or more years of experience working with children in camps, child care, tutoring, or nannying
• Ability to model and demonstrate Y values: caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty
• Experience planning and implementing group activities
• Completed 12 credits of 100-level or above college-level coursework and have a GED or high school diploma
• Transcripts will be required during the offer stage to ensure applicants meet state licensing requirements pre-hire
• Completion of minimum STARS required training
• Certification in CPR/First aid
• TB test by Mantoux method
• Food worker card
• Cleared Portable Background reputed company in the statewide registry MERIT

Preferred Qualifications:

• 21 years of age or older
• Leadership or supervisory experience (1-2 years)
• Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
• Ability to speak any language in addition to English

Work Environment:

As a part-time instructor, you can expect to work Monday through Friday, 6:45 am to start of school and end of school to 6:00 pm, with some flexibility to support the Play Everyday Program 2-4 days per week.
