Job Summary

As an Associate Counsel, you will be responsible for researching laws, preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda, and rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department. You will also prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions, examinations before trial, and examinations under oath. Key Responsibilities

* Researching laws and preparing legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda

• Rendering opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
• Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, to include depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath
• Defending by trial or dispositive hearing, reputed company matters assigned, as applicable
• Collaborating with the Claims Department to ensure effective communication and coordination
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and files
• Staying reputed company with changes in laws, regulations, and industry developments

Qualifications

* 2 to 6+ years of experience in reputed company field litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury

• Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED
• Admission to the reputed company Bar REQUIRED
• Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in reputed company and meet and maintain licensing requirements, including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements where applicable
• Must be reputed company to travel as required, including but not limited to, attending trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences
• Must be reputed company to document files in a clear, concise, professional written manner, to be understood by customers, clients, co-workers, and other employees of the organization
• Must be reputed company to follow reputed company instructions, resolve conflicts or facilitate conflict resolution, and have strong organization/reputed company setting and multi-tasking skills
• Must be reputed company to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information

Preferred Qualifications

* Civil litigation experience

• Insurance defense-reputed company litigation experience
• Must be reputed company to communicate in a professional manner in person, reputed company telephone, and written correspondence/email
