Special Testing Services Coordinator

About the position This role is responsible for obtaining and managing all required documentation as mandated by state or other regulatory entities for designated testing. The coordinator must determine preauthorization, informed consent requirements, and other documentation needs from various insurance plans, payers, and governing sources. This position involves handling all payer, physician, and patient contact via telephone and written communication, troubleshooting complex medical/technical compliance issues, and addressing routine requests. The role also includes coordinating and reviewing laboratory testing and billing processes, and collaborating with third-party partners as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains and manages any required documentation as required by state or other regulatory entities for designated testing.
  • Determines preauthorization, informed consent requirements and other documentation needs from a variety of insurance plans, payers and other governing sources.
  • Handles all payer, physician and patient contact received by telephone and in writing.
  • Troubleshoots both complex medical/technical compliance and routine requests.
  • Deals with the coordination and review of laboratory testing and billing processes.
  • Collaborates with other third-party partners as needed.
