[Hiring] Medical Billing & Credentialing Virtual Assistant @Virtual Rockstar
Role Description This is a remote position. Virtual Rockstar is hiring a full-time Medical Billing & Credentialing Virtual Assistant on behalf of a growing mental health counseling practice. This role will provide administrative, billing, credentialing, and insurance support to help ensure smooth operations across a large team of providers. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working with billing processes, therapist credentialing, patient communication, and administrative workflows. Key Responsibilities
- Billing & Insurance Support
- Review client billing and insurance billing activities
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on billing-related issues
- Generate and format billing-related documentation and reports
- Follow up on unpaid claims and billing discrepancies
- Track and update expired insurance information
- Support insurance-related administrative processes
- Assist with maintaining accurate billing records
- Credentialing Support
- Follow up on therapist credentialing applications and renewals
- Monitor credentialing status and communicate updates to providers
- Maintain organized credentialing records and documentation
- Coordinate with credentialing organizations and insurance networks as needed
- Track deadlines and ensure timely follow-up
- Administrative Support
- Manage email correspondence and ticketing systems
- Set up and maintain email accounts and fax accounts
- Monitor and organize incoming communications
- Manage electronic records and administrative documentation
- Perform data entry and generate reports as needed
- Assist with operational and process-improvement initiatives
- Patient & Provider Support
- Respond professionally to patient inquiries via phone and email
- Assist with insurance and billing-related questions
- Communicate effectively with providers and administrative staff
- Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times
- Support a positive patient experience through timely and professional communication
Qualifications
- Experience in medical billing, insurance billing, or healthcare administration
- Experience with provider credentialing or willingness to learn credentialing processes
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Comfortable communicating with patients, providers, and insurance representatives
- Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability
- Experience with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
