Our mission is to innovate responsibly, ensuring that every digital experience is trustworthy, inclusive, and designed to improve everyday life.

Why This Role Matters

As a Data Scientist on the Machine Learning Data Experiences team, you will be at the heart of arenaflex’s data‑driven decision‑making engine. Your work will transform massive streams of user interaction data, app content metrics, and marketplace signals into actionable insights that shape product strategy, enhance user experiences, and drive revenue growth for developers and advertisers alike.

Role Overview

This part‑time, fully remote position is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast‑paced, collaborative environments and enjoy turning raw data into strategic business value. You will partner with product managers, engineers, analysts, and cross‑functional stakeholders to design, develop, and operationalize machine‑learning models and analytical pipelines that power arenaflex’s core services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ML models that predict user engagement, content relevance, and ad performance across the arenaflex ecosystem.
  • Develop robust data pipelines using Python, SQL, and cloud technologies (AWS, Snowflake, Blaze, and Spark) to ingest, clean, and transform clickstream and A/B testing data.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business objectives into clear data requirements and analytical solutions.
  • Perform advanced statistical analyses—including regression, clustering, classification, and time‑series forecasting—to uncover trends and inform product roadmaps.
  • Create intuitive, data‑driven dashboards and visualizations that communicate findings to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Partner with data engineers to ensure data quality, reliability, and compliance with privacy standards.
  • Stay current with emerging data‑science techniques, tools, and best practices, and proactively recommend improvements to existing workflows.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to a culture of continuous learning within the analytics community.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. A master’s or Ph.D. is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of hands‑on data‑science experience, preferably within the digital advertising, e‑commerce, or technology sectors.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit‑learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch) and SQL; solid understanding of AWS services, Snowflake data warehousing, and big‑data processing frameworks such as Spark.
  • Statistical Expertise: Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous quantitative analyses, including hypothesis testing, regression modeling, clustering, and time‑series forecasting.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex analytical results clearly to product, engineering, and leadership teams.
  • Collaboration: Proven track record of working effectively in cross‑functional, fast‑moving teams, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining high quality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline.
  • Experience with A/B testing frameworks and causal inference methods.
  • Familiarity with data‑visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
  • Background in advertising technology, recommendation systems, or content personalization.
  • Knowledge of data‑privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and best practices for secure data handling.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to dissect complex problems, identify root causes, and propose data‑driven solutions.
  • Programming Acumen: Clean, maintainable code; familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of how data insights translate into product decisions, revenue impact, and user satisfaction.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and evolving project scopes.
  • Team Player: Collaborative spirit, openness to feedback, and willingness to share knowledge.
