Why This Role Is a Perfect Fit for You

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Entry Engineer to join the Data Innovation Group within our Data Innovation Division. This role blends traditional on‑premises infrastructure responsibilities with modern cloud‑native implementations, offering you a unique opportunity to broaden your technical expertise while contributing to mission‑critical systems that keep the world moving.

In this position, you will:

  • Work on hybrid infrastructure projects that span both legacy data centers and leading cloud platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable, resilient services.
  • Play a pivotal role in troubleshooting complex middleware issues across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Drive continuous improvement by staying current with emerging technologies and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Design & Implementation: Execute hybrid infrastructure solutions based on specifications from architecture teams, ensuring seamless integration between on‑premises servers and cloud services.
  • Performance & Scaling: Apply deep knowledge of load balancing, web‑application server clustering, and application scaling concepts to optimize system performance.
  • Middleware Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve middleware problems across development, QA, and production environments, minimizing downtime and enhancing reliability.
  • Data Center Operations: Proactively monitor and maintain both local and remote data center equipment, including UPS, HVAC, power, security systems, and overall data‑center processes.
  • Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Foster a culture of teamwork by mentoring junior engineers, leading technical discussions, and documenting solutions for future reference.
  • Technology Evolution: Keep abreast of infrastructure trends, cloud innovations, and industry standards; recommend enhancements that align with arenaflex’s strategic goals.
  • Incident Management: Own the communication and escalation process for infrastructure incidents, providing timely updates to stakeholders and driving root‑cause analysis.
  • Directory Services Management: Administer Windows Active Directory, including DNS and Group Policy, ensuring consistent and secure identity management.
  • On‑Call Rotation: Participate in a mandatory on‑call schedule to support after‑hours incidents, guaranteeing 24/7 reliability for critical systems.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a systems or infrastructure engineer, with a proven track record of managing hybrid environments.
  • Strong understanding of server architecture concepts, including Linux (RHEL/CentOS 7/8) and Windows Server (2012/2016).
  • Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Python, Ansible, and PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, IBM Cloud) and the ability to design, develop, and deploy cloud‑native applications.
  • Experience with DevOps pipelines (CI/CD), version control (GitHub), artifact repositories (Artifactory), and automation servers (Jenkins).
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry) and monitoring solutions (Dynatrace, LogDNA, Sysdig).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective work‑arounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a senior infrastructure or architecture role, preferably within the aviation or transportation industry.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Red Hat Certified Engineer.
  • Proven experience leading large‑scale migration projects from on‑premises data centers to cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM processes and best practices for incident, problem, and change management.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell) for automation of routine tasks.
