Regional Admissions Officer (Recruitment - Chicago)
Classification Title: Admissions Officer II Classification Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience. Job Description: The University of Florida is seeking a Regional Admissions Officer to manage recruitment efforts across the greater Chicago, Illinois area. In this role, you will represent UF at high school visits and regional college fairs, build strong relationships with prospective students, families, and counselors, and guide them through the admissions process. Working from a home office, you will oversee your assigned territory, travel throughout Illinois for recruitment activities, support freshman application review, and respond to inquiries via phone, email, and virtual platforms. Key responsibilities include: Student Engagement & Recruitment Manage recruitment activities across the Chicago, Illinois territory Visit high schools, state colleges, and attend regional college fairs Promote UF’s multiple enrollment pathways (UF Residential, UF Online, Innovation Academy, PaCE) Host virtual and in-person information sessions for prospective students and families Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors and college advisors Plan and execute yield events and recruitment initiatives within the assigned region Travel regularly, including extended overnight trips, and operate a vehicle to support outreach efforts Territory Management & Reporting Identify key markets and strategic opportunities within the assigned region Analyze recruitment data, school visit trends, and other metrics to guide planning Manage a recruitment territory plan aligned with enrollment goals Prepare and submit weekly reports on recruitment activities and progress Advise leadership on territory performance and engagement outcomes Application Review & Evaluation Review and evaluate freshman applications using a holistic approach Assess academic records, standardized test scores, resumes, and personal statements Support the admissions selection process for a highly selective institution Other Duties Participate in ongoing training to maintain professional expertise Respond to inquiries about UF admissions policies and processes Communicate with prospective students and families via phone, email, virtual platforms, and in person Complete administrative responsibilities tied to the admissions office Perform additional duties as assigned Expected Salary: $60,000 annually In addition, UF offers the following exceptional benefits: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance State Retirement Plans Paid Time Off (approximately 22 days of vacation leave, 13 days of sick leave, and 11 paid holidays annually) Tuition Assistance (UF Employee Education Program) Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Eligible Employer For more information on benefits, please visit UFHR Benefits and Rewards (ufl.edu) Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience Valid Drivers License is required.
