Whether you are new to pharmacy operations or a seasoned technician looking for a remote opportunity that values your expertise, this position is designed to launch or elevate your career in healthcare. Read on to discover what makes this role — and arenaflex — truly exceptional.

About arenaflex and the Future of Pharmacy

arenaflex is a forward-thinking organization dedicated to delivering outstanding pharmaceutical care to communities across the United States. While rooted in the proud tradition of patient-first service, we have embraced cutting-edge technology and innovative workflows that empower our team members to work smarter, grow faster, and make a real impact on patient lives every single day.

Our pharmacy is not just a place to fill prescriptions — it is the centerpiece of community health. By joining arenaflex, you become a vital part of a mission-driven team that prioritizes patient relationships, clinical excellence, and continuous learning. We invest in our people because we know that better-equipped technicians create better patient outcomes.

Position Overview

As a Remote Pharmacy Data Entry & Patient Care Specialist at arenaflex, you will serve as the digital front line of our pharmacy operations. You will engage directly with patients and customers, support pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, manage critical prescription data, and ensure every interaction reflects the warmth and professionalism that defines the arenaflex experience. This full-time role requires eight hours of dedicated work per day and offers the freedom and flexibility of a remote work environment.

Key Responsibilities

In this dynamic role, your day-to-day contributions will include a blend of technical accuracy, customer engagement, and collaborative support. Below is a detailed breakdown of what you can expect:

  • Patient and Customer Engagement: Welcome patients and customers with a friendly, professional demeanor. Provide assistance with services and products, answer questions, and resolve concerns to ensure every individual walks away with a positive experience.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Model and share best practices in customer service with team members. Focus on interpersonal habits such as greeting, eye contact, courtesy, and proactive assistance. Embody the arenaflex service traits of identifying customer needs, providing help before being asked, and following through until complete satisfaction is achieved.
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong, trusting relationships with high-value customers, positioning yourself as a knowledgeable and reliable point of contact in their healthcare journey.
  • Prescription Data Entry: Use arenaflex pharmacy systems to accurately enter patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and maintain meticulous records. If you hold PTCB certification, you will also coach and support fellow technicians in system operations.
  • Pharmacy Operations Support: Assist the pharmacist in scheduling, maintaining workflow, and performing duties in compliance with state, federal, and company policies. This includes filling prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical products, verifying medication accuracy, and screening for potential drug interactions.
  • Error Reporting and Quality Assurance: Promptly report any prescription errors to the supervising pharmacist and strictly adhere to arenaflex policies regarding good faith dispensing and quality improvement protocols.
  • Cash Register and Sales Operations: Accurately register all related sales, handle cash transactions as required, and guide customers to over-the-counter product aisles when appropriate to assist with their needs.
  • Telephone and Communication Management: Handle incoming phone calls that do not require the direct attention of the pharmacist, including calls to physicians, while ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Claims Processing: Correct and resubmit manual claims for third-party prescription services in an efficient, timely manner, and perform other clerical responsibilities as assigned by the pharmacy manager.
  • Inventory and Stock Management: Support inventory activities including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing prescription drug shipments. Maintain knowledge of company asset protection techniques and document any overages, shortages, order discrepancies, or damaged goods.
  • Clinical Services Coordination: May assist the pharmacist with clinical services such as the collection and labeling of blood or urine samples. Help coordinate clinical services with arenaflex healthcare clinics and external partners.
  • Community Outreach: Support the pharmacy supervisor and staff pharmacist in building and maintaining relationships with the local medical community — including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers — through outreach to health agencies, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other growth-oriented forums.
  • Maintenance and Compliance: Ensure the pharmacy workspace is clean, orderly, and well-stocked. Comply with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, and maintain respectful, collaborative relationships with coworkers.
  • Special Projects: Complete additional assignments and responsibilities as needed to support the overall success of the pharmacy team.

Education, Training, and Personal Development Opportunities

At arenaflex, we believe in learning as you earn. Our pharmacy technician training program is fully accredited and designed to prepare you for long-term success in the pharmacy care industry.

  • Earn and maintain Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification through our structured program or as required by your state.
  • Complete training sessions, performance learning plans (PPLs), and continuing education credits as requested by management.
  • Stay current with the latest healthcare and pharmacy knowledge, trends, and best practices.
  • Upon successful completion of the arenaflex pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, participants may qualify for up to 8 college credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE) — 3 semester hours at the lower-division baccalaureate or associate degree category, and 5 semester hours at the upper-division baccalaureate category.

Basic Qualifications

  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Reliable internet connection and a dedicated, distraction-free home workspace.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to work full-time hours (8 hours per day) in a remote setting.
