Account Maintenance Analyst
California Correctional Health Care Services is part of the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), which serves public employees and retirees. They are seeking an Account Maintenance Analyst to review and maintain service credit purchase records, resolve inquiries, and communicate policies to members and employers.
Responsibilities
- Reviewing, correcting, and maintaining Service Credit Purchase records, receivables, and accounts
- Investigating, analyzing, and resolving difficult and sensitive cases and issues, including, but not limited to, participant requests for balances owed on their account, payroll deduction records, documents associated to a participant’s account, and other significant data
- Responding to inquiries (i.e.: telephone, Workflow inquiries, etc.) from members and employers of a difficult and sensitive nature and escalates to designated staff when appropriate
- Preparing written recommendations, correspondence, issuing memos, and program area requests, etc., for management review to resolve eligibility issues and/or interest charges related to service credit purchases
- Interpreting, explaining, and communicating policies, procedures, and laws, verbally and in writing, to various levels of the organization, and external customers
Skills
- All experience and education relating to the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) listed on the Classification Specification should be included in your application package to clearly demonstrate how you meet the MQs for this position

- If you have a degree from outside of the United States, you must submit an evaluation of this degree to determine the US equivalency
- You may need to pass an examination to establish list eligibility prior to a final offer of employment
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively both in writing and verbally
- Experience providing customer service to the public, both in person and over the phone
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to organize/prioritize workload to meet demand
- Excellent work ethic and attention to detail with the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to reference and interpret policy, procedures, and the law
- Proficient in using Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office Tools (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Accurint databases)
