Key Account Manager (Mid-West Region or NC)

Role Overview PIC North America, a Genus Company, has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Key Account Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and strengthening relationships with key customers while effectively communicating and delivering the PIC value proposition to drive revenue and profitability. You will also partner closely with the Key Account Director to support the development and execution of strategic customer initiatives aimed at achieving both customer objectives and financial targets. We are looking for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, culturally diverse environment and can work both independently and collaboratively across teams and functions. The ideal candidate is an influential communicator with strong verbal and presentation skills, capable of negotiating and building lasting relationships with key stakeholders. Additionally, you bring strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to identify opportunities, analyze challenges, and implement effective solutions. This position is ideally based in the Mid-West region or the state of North Carolina, USA, and requires approximately 50% domestic travel. The salary for this position starts at $150,000 USD. The amount provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. You Will Support the Key Account Director in the development of the strategic customer initiatives to deliver/achieve profit targets and customer goals. Develop and maintain favorable relationships with new clients to increase revenue. Maintain and enhance relationships with key accounts to drive revenue and profit growth. Identify Customer Needs: Use analytical thought to recommend product or services enhancements or modifications to identify innovative solutions to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Work with all customer interfaces within accounts to influence, develop and implement improved ways of realizing the full genetic performance potential in customer farms. Prepare and manage the annual budget for area of responsibility, monitor and adjust sales operations as appropriate to meet forecasts. Negotiate, sustain and renew customer contracts, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. Communicate and sell the value proposition effectively to key industry contacts, including customer and prospects, to drive business growth. Identify, target and converts prospects and opportunities to new business. Due to specialized knowledge, typically leads teams/projects to grow business and gain market share leading by example. Inform customers regarding new product/service offerings and pricing. Develop an account plan and effectively utilize internal resources to implement necessary actions to achieve growth and profitability in assigned accounts and area of responsibility. Create, monitor and adjust lead generation plans to maintain a robust sales opportunity pipeline. Business Intelligence: Research market trends; maintain current awareness of industry and competitor information and analyze data and sales statistics. Reporting: Prepare and present reports to stakeholders regarding the current status of the Company's relationships with key accounts. Travel approximately 50%.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications: (required) Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or a related field. 12+ years of experience in swine sales, including a strong understanding of production metrics, business impact, and financial management. Proven track record of developing, managing, and delivering against annual budgets, as well as successfully leading cross-functional account teams. Minimum of 3 years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite and CRM/sales platforms, including Dynamics, Power BI, and Customer Engagement tools. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and stakeholders at multiple levels within customer organizations. Strong negotiation, influencing, and contract management skills, with the ability to drive mutually beneficial outcomes. Proven strategic thinking and account planning capabilities, including identifying growth opportunities, managing pipelines, and executing customer-specific strategies. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate value propositions and deliver impactful customer engagements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable solutions. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across internal functions such as technical, operations, and commercial teams. High level of organization and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
