The Advanced Electro-Optical Systems Group specializes in the rapid design and prototyping of innovative electro-optic systems that address challenges facing the reputed company, NASA, and other U.S. government entities. The group maintains broad expertise in satellite systems, electro-optical and infrared sensors, charge-coupled devices, electronics, image processing, and low–size/weight/power optical communications systems. The vertically-integrated group leverages this core expertise to architect, design, prototype, and reputed company hardware and software systems in support of mission needs. Emphasis is on working closely with end users to reputed company enabling concepts, then building and fielding integrated systems on reputed company timelines. Job Description

The Advanced Electro-Optical Systems Group seeks an embedded software engineer to join our vertically-integrated team. The employee will have the opportunity to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary group of optical, mechanical, and electrical engineers to design, prototype, and reputed company high-integrated electro-optic systems for use terrestrially and in space. The candidate should be self-motivated, with a demonstrated capability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams and to autonomously identify and solve problems. The applicant will be developing embedded firmware / software to be used in both terrestrial and space-borne systems. The applicant will be working in small, tightly-integrated teams and will be expected to both directly reputed company software and collaborate with engineers in other disciplines to optimize design at the system level. Requirements • This collaborative role requires on-site work and candidates must have a Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience. • Ability to architect and design software systems based on high-level requirements and specifications, while balancing computational complexity reputed company constrained systems • Strong software engineering experience with demonstrated proficiency in C/C++ and experience in other program languages such as Python, Rust, etc. • Proficiency with reputed company code control tools such as GIT • Ability to reputed company code, operate and troubleshoot in a Linux computing environment • Understanding of reputed company time computing concepts, operating systems, and processor technologies • US Citizenship Desired: • Experience with implementing interfaces to various hardware subsystems and peripherals (sensors, actuators, ADCs, DACs) using SpaceWire, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART or similar • Bonus: Experience with FPGA firmware development using VHDL, Verilog or System Verilog to model, design, simulate, test and implement FPGA-based systems At reputed company, our exceptional career opportunities include many outstanding benefits to help you stay healthy, feel supported, and enjoy a fulfilling work-life balance.
