[Remote] HR Assistant

The HR Assistant plays a vital role in supporting various HR functions, including onboarding, benefits enrollment, and maintaining employee records, while ensuring compliance with labor laws and school policies.
Responsibilities
- Support the onboarding process for new hires by updating documentation, distributing paperwork, entering data, and verifying compliance with legal requirements
- Assist in benefits enrollment to ensure accurate and timely processing for all staff members
- Maintain employee personnel files, including legal documents such as clearances and certifications
- Track teacher certifications and Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) status to ensure adherence to Charter School laws
- Support the finance team during audit preparations by ensuring all personnel documentation is accurate and complete
- Assist with compliance efforts related to local, state, and federal labor laws
- Support HR initiatives aimed at fostering a positive work environment
- Require proactive communication, meticulous record-keeping, and a commitment to supporting the overall mission of Mastery Charter Schools

- Proficiency in Excel and other data management software
- Educational qualifications include an Associate's degree
- Physical ability to perform essential duties, including travel between campuses and interaction with students and staff
- Experience in K-12 education, public education, charter schools, or under-resourced school communities
- Familiarity with PA/NJ Teacher and Administrative Certification processes
- Bachelor's degree
- 1-3 years of relevant HR and administrative experience
